FAQS:
- Do you Fingerprint? Robinson Ranch is authorized by the Department of Public Safety to perform fingerprints onsite. You can conveniently pay your $10 fingerprint fee online during the registration process.
- I have a Level One Card: If you have a Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card, there will be an option to check that during registration online, and it bypasses the fee.
- When can I start? Right away! During registration, you are scheduled for shifts based on your current availability and need.
- I’m on the fence and not sure if I want to commit: If you are not sure whether you want to commit to a volunteer shift with Robinson Ranch, postpone your attendance until you are sure. We facilitate orientation year-round.
- Can I give a donation as a volunteer? You certainly can! Robinson Ranch is a 501(c)3, non profit organization that is a (QCO) Qualified Charitable Organization. This status is special because your tax donations are converted to a state tax credit when you file your taxes. Please read https://azdor.gov/tax-credits/credits-contributions-qcos-and-qfcos for more information on how much you can contribute as a single individual and married couple.
Some areas where volunteers are needed at Robinson Ranch:
Office & Administrative Volunteer Opportunities: Robinson Ranch is a mission-driven organization committed to serving individuals of all abilities through equine-assisted activities and therapeutic programs. While our work in the arena often takes center stage, the heart of our operations relies heavily on the support provided behind the scenes—particularly in our office.
At this time, we are seeking dedicated and dependable volunteers to assist with essential administrative tasks. Our administrative team is small but passionate, and additional help from volunteers allows us to operate more efficiently and focus more resources on our programs and participants.
Some of the areas where we currently need volunteer support include:
- Answering incoming calls and directing inquiries
- Taking accurate messages and relaying them to the appropriate staff
- Scheduling riding lessons (Private, Group, Therapeutic and more)
- Filing and organizing records
- Assisting with data entry and database updates
- Preparing mailings and other communications
- Special event support and general clerical tasks
If you have experience in an office environment, strong organizational skills, or simply enjoy keeping things running smoothly, we would love to have you join our team. Even a few hours of your time each week can make a meaningful difference. A willingness to learn, attention to detail, and a positive attitude are all you need to get started.
Volunteering in the office is a great way to contribute to the mission of Robinson Ranch, especially for those who prefer a quieter, structured setting or who may not be able to participate in hands-on animal care. If you’re ready to make an impact and support a cause that changes lives every day, please reach out—we’d be thrilled to welcome you aboard.
Maintenance Shifts (morning & evening): Each shift includes feeding the horses, refreshing their water, and cleaning the stalls. Volunteers assigned to a maintenance shift are expected to dedicate a minimum of one hour per week, with most shifts typically requiring no more than 90 minutes to complete. These shifts play a vital role in the well-being of our horses and contribute to the overall safety and cleanliness of the facility. We depend on the consistency and reliability of our volunteers to maintain the high standards of care that Robinson Ranch is known for.
Some things you can expect to do during maintenance shifts:
- Turn out horses based on the let out schedule in the Gazebo
- Feed small animals (cats, pigs and goats)
- Feed the horses
- Clean stalls, paddocks and arena areas
- Check, clean and fill (if needed) automatic waterers and water barrels
Grant Writing, Marketing, Fundraising & Website Management Volunteer Opportunities: Robinson Ranch is actively seeking skilled and passionate volunteers to support the growth and sustainability of our programs through grant writing, marketing, fundraising, and website management. These roles are critical to helping us fulfill our mission of providing equine-assisted activities and therapies to individuals of all abilities. With a small but dedicated staff, we rely on the support of volunteers who can contribute their time and expertise to help us reach new audiences, secure funding, and elevate our presence in the community.
Current Volunteer Needs Include:
- Grant Writing: Assist with identifying grant opportunities, drafting compelling proposals, and compiling supporting documentation. Experience in grant research or writing is highly valued, but we welcome fast learners with strong writing skills and attention to detail.
- Marketing & Communications: Help develop outreach strategies, create social media content, write newsletters, and support public relations efforts. Creativity and an understanding of brand storytelling are a plus.
- Fundraising & Event Planning: Collaborate with staff to organize fundraising campaigns and special events. Volunteers may assist with event logistics, donor communications, sponsorship outreach, and follow-up activities.
- Website Management: Support website updates, content creation, and user experience improvements. Familiarity with website platforms like WordPress is helpful, though training can be provided.
Flexible hours are available, and many of these tasks can be completed remotely or on-site depending on your preference. Whether you have a few hours a week or are looking for a more involved volunteer role, your support can make a powerful impact.
If you have experience in any of these areas—we would be thrilled to have you join the Robinson Ranch team. Your contributions will directly support programs that change lives every day.
